The Sumter Shag Club was established in 1985 and is dedicated to the preservation of South Carolina’s state dance “The Shag.”  We are proud to be celebrating our Silver 25th Anniversary and welcome you to join us!

      The Sumter Shag Club maintains an active membership in the Association of Carolina Shag Clubs.  We host many events each year for our club members and their guests and we also support many charitable events throughout the year within the local Sumter community. 

     We are always looking for new members who love to move their feet and just enjoy having a great time.  If you enjoy dancing, or just the smooth sound of beach music in a comfortable social environment, the Sumter Shag Club might be for you.  Remember, If you’re not shaggin’ you’re not having fun. 

    Our club membership is a wonderful group of people who simply love to dance to that beach, boogie and blues sound.  Our membership is now at 100+ and we are always adding new members.  Please come out and support the club at Legacies (The Home of The Sumter Shag Club) on Tuesday nights where you can move your feet to that beach music beat!
